This Farmall A tractor, was built in 1941 and was used on a farm in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. I purchased the tractor in 1994 and had it moved to Cedarburg. The original engine block was badly cracked. I received a used industrial block from the seller. He advised that he did not have any time to work on the tractor or motor.
I thought this project would take several years, instead, it took 4 months to get the tractor running and ready for the 4th of July parade in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
1994 was the only year that I put the tractor in a parade. The seller was contacted and was at the parade and had the opportunity to look over my restoration.
Since then the tractor has gathered dust in my garage. I need to work on the starter (positive ground) and a clicking sound in the rear axle. I believe it is a brake issue.
Jumping ahead to September 2025, I sold the Farmall A at auction in Dousman, WI. The winning bid was $1,100.00. A far cry from what I had into this tractor in parts. But I had the enjoyment of bringing this little red tractor back to life. Good by my little friend.
